Bible Blessings – The Natural State – Romans 7:19

Blessings through perseverance!  Prayer requests?

Romans 7:19, “For the good that I wish, I do not do; but I practice the very evil that I do not wish.”

No matter what we do to the ranch land – put out decomposed granite pathways, carve out flower beds, lay out gravel drives, plow fields or seed and sprig healthy pasture grasses, the native grasses, wildflowers, vines and brambles inch their way back in.  It’s a constant battle to bury the basic instincts of the land.  The earth works hard to retreat to its natural self!

Is it not the same for Christians?  Even though the Lord Jesus digs out the weeds, hauls in new dirt, grades the land and plants His seed of new and eternal life within us, we want to return to our natural inclinations.  As the Apostle Paul stated, we desire to do good and live godly lives, but the allure is powerful so we battle beliefs, fight faith and war with the Word.  What can we do?

Pray for wisdom, strength and guidance, protect your heart and mind with the Bible’s truth, place yourself with strong believers, practice His good moment by moment and always position yourself close to God.

Persevering with God’s Goodness, PJ
