Blessings of God’s focus! Prayer requests?
“More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,” Philippians 3:18
In a thick grove on the ranch sets a stone cross and three rough-hewn wooden benches. A clearing in the midst provides a quiet and restful place to pray or simply think. Brambles, undergrowth bushes, and fallen tree trucks and branches vie for space among elms, cedars, and live oaks. If a brush cutter were not periodically brought in the cross and benches would soon be hidden and our private place invisible.
Sometimes life falls in and shields our spiritual sight. What might hinder your view of Jesus today? Have you allowed brambles of fear, bushes of busyness or fallen trees of stress to crowd the impact of His Cross? After all, new and eternal life is yours because of His sacrifice. What is most important? Does your job, finances, relationships, hobbies, place of residence, health or schedule ultimately hold greater significance than God’s actions on that fateful weekend?
As we anticipate Easter we can be grateful for His death, humbled by His burial and joyful in His resurrection. Why not remove what clouds a clear and perfect view of the Savior of all?
To what areas will you wield God’s Holy brush cutter?
