Romans 8:38, 39, “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
One way to measure the value of our nation is to consider the value of the dollar. According to the article, Value of the U.S. - Dollar Has Increased in Value Since 2011 by Kimberly Amadeo, posted on the website About.com US Economy; the dollar’s value can be measured by three methods: exchange rates, Treasury notes and foreign exchange reserves (the amount of dollars held by foreign countries). These three measurements have recorded a rise in the dollar’s value since 2011, reversing a downward decline that began in 2002. That’s good news, but what happens when one or more of those factors change? And they will.
What about you? How to you measure personal value? Many view themselves with little regard because of difficult childhoods or past events. Some carry an inflated sense of self, again, a result from past experience. When we base our self-worth on job or career, good works, relationships both in and out of family, opinion of others, status, finances, appearance, health, memberships, or education we actually allow fallible people and faulty things to determine our worth.
Why do that when we can set our self-worth on the Unchanging, the Perfect, the Eternal One who values you and me enough to freely give His one and only Son? God offers love. We invest with belief and yield spiritual dividends with the highest interest. Our eternal portfolio is complete and confirmed.
When personal value, self-worth, self-esteem, or self-image is based on the Lord Jesus Christ, that value is never adjusted, never drops, is never lost and is always accurate. His love is that deep, your value that great.
