Happy Mothers’ Day! Blessings of a godly legacy! Prayer requests?
Psalm 102:18, “Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord.”
Seven tall and stately trees stand sentry in a semi-circle at the back of the ranch house. No, we didn’t arrange these but, no doubt, someone decades ago, maybe even 100 years or more did. The burr oaks, cedar elms and live oaks were either intentionally planted or left after the surrounding land was cleared for cattle pastures perhaps in hopes of one day shading a house from the western exposure. In Texas the sun is fierce as it climbs the eastern skies and before it descends into the sunset. When deciding where to place the house we, too, chose this spot.
I am the beneficiary of those who had the forethought to plan for the future and I appreciate their past contributions to my present comfort. So, I ask myself, “What am I doing now to contribute to someone’s future spiritual comfort?”
“Am I growing in God so that I may encourage the Christianity of those yet to be born or I have yet to meet?” “Am I currently promoting the spiritual welfare of another?” “Am I planting seeds that will strengthen others for God so that their eternity is secure?” “Am I living for God in such a way that it will positively impact future generations for Him?”
We all leave a legacy. Will yours be a Christian one?
