Blessings of faith! Prayer requests?
“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
Good news – I’m stepping out, well more like jumping out, in faith, and have determined the Lord is pointing me to Seminary. I researched the closest ones, decided an online approach was best, and began the process that will end in a Master’s degree. Better news – While I stubbornly resisted taking the GRE (Graduate Records Exam), that concern was quickly remedied because the school I selected only requires a certain GPA from my undergraduate program.
I qualified, but still needed to complete the online application form, send in my transcript and secure three references. Best news – I was officially approved this past week, and will begin classes in August! Yikes, it’s been more than a few years since I attended school of any kind (all prayers welcomed), and I admit, I feel a bit overwhelmed.
Most likely the Lord is not asking you to enroll in Seminary, but as a Christian, I imagine He wants your faith to be active and that means stepping out from what’s cushy and comfy. What does that look like for you?
Befriending someone outside of your normal circle, applying for a new job or position, moving to a new area, altering a family, friend or dating relationship, attending or changing churches, beginning regular prayer and Bible study, giving time and money to church and Christian organizations, ministering in new areas, recommitting to your marriage and family, redistributing finances, seeking help for emotional challenges, surrendering chronic pain and health problems to God, committing to self-discipline through healthy diet and exercise?
If you are not certain about your beliefs, will you begin your Christian path and accept the truth of John 3:16?
“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
Will you take that first step of faith? Will you leap into the new life the Living Lord laid out just for you? Say “yes” to God!
