Blessings of right living! Prayer requests?
Colossians 3:1-2, “Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.”
Per the doctor’s orders I started wearing large, awkward thumb and wrist splints at night to alleviate hand pain and straighten the joints. I hope they help, but at least I’m ready to pull out broiling hot trays of nachos, quesadillas, or chocolate chip cookies from the oven at a moment’s notice. Well, I look like I am anyway. My natural inclination is to sleep with hands and fingers curled up near my face, and try as I might, I can’t kick the habit so splints it is.
They keep my hands in right alignment, but what about spiritually? My spiritual self tends to tilt when trauma and tragedy attack. News of natural disasters, friends’ illness and death, judicial decisions, world, national and local strife, political turmoil, and bad health news knock me out of joint. Then I remember God’s Word.
Psalm 24:1, “The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, The world, and those who dwell in it.”
I know God has my back … and hands.
Psalm 5:8, “O Lord, lead me in Your righteousness because of my foes; Make Your way straight before me.”
While pain and degenerative disease are foes of physical alignment; daily bombardment against Christian faith can create spiritual crookedness. So when you’re out of God alignment, why not tighten up on Biblical Truth, put in order prayer, work on worship, follow-up with fellowship, rearrange attitudes, press out new priorities, sort out sin, correct callous actions, and adjust your ways to His?
Proverbs 3:6, “In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.”
God paves pathways with patience and peace, calms with kindness, levels with love, straightens out sorrows, rights wrongs, and squares away eternity through the Savior of All.
Will you allow Him to firmly fix His ‘Splint of Truth’ around your heart, mind, body and soul?
