Blessings of HOPE! Prayer requests?
A quick wedding of someone much too young, a brain tumor in a thirty-something year old, memory loss that forced withdrawal from all that’s familiar, knee replacement surgery, and loss of a long-time client point to the unexplainable and unexpected. All of these have affected me, or someone I know, the past few weeks. Life is uncertain and that is troubling. After all, we didn’t ‘sign up’ for heartache and hazard, but still the onslaught continues.
So what to do? Rage about life’s unfairness to others, crawl inside ourselves in depression, quietly boil in anger, attempt to stay in ignorance and hope it all goes away? What about placing hope in God?
Romans 5:5, “and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
How about trusting God?
Psalm 9:10, “And those who know Your name will put their trust in You, For You, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek You.”
Watching for God’s guidance?
Psalm 23:3, “He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.” Isaiah 58:11, “And the Lord will continually guide you, And satisfy your desire in scorched places, And give strength to your bones; And you will be like a watered garden, And like a spring of water whose waters do not fail.”
Looking to God for consistency and comfort?
Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”
Acknowledge and believe. Maybe then we will be open to soak up His peace no matter what!
Philippians 4:7, “And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
While life is uncertain, GOD IS NOT.
“Dear Lord, Help me to find Your peace wherever and whenever. Thank you.”
