Blessings of sweet friendships! Prayer requests?
Proverbs 17:17a, “A friend loves at all times…”
1 John 4:19, “We love, because He (God) first loved us.”
At the ranch wide unobstructed vistas encourage sky-gazing so the eye is more easily drawn to avian adventures. I enjoy precision formations of ducks, smooth gliding of crows, entertaining acrobatics of Scissor-tails, quick fluttering of mockingbirds, large fluid flapping of herons, colorful capers of cardinals and blue jays, and closer to ground, rapid darting of Hummingbirds. Birds travel in flocks, or smaller groups of three or four, and occasionally, I’ll spot a lone soul gently floating high overhead on soft breezes.
Yesterday their interactions tugged my thoughts toward friends; those people with whom we travel together through life. It hasn’t always been easy for me to make friends so the ones I have I cherish. Friends are precious gifts, and each one draws something different out of me and to our relationship. Some challenge, some encourage, some comfort, some share deeply, some bring intensity and others offer casual grace while some are fun and chatty, and with some I share lengthy history. Some I see regularly, others occasionally, but all are a special blend of the above and each, a blessing. Every connection forms a unique interaction that is impossible to replicate. And I’m grateful to God for every one.
God blesses with friendships, and I want to learn life and love, and be open to Him through each one. At the same time, I want to allow God to use me even though I am frail and fallible before Him and with my friends.
