Thanksgiving Day often turns our heads and hearts to super sales, football, food, and if we’re fortunate, family and friends. But we often fail to face God and feel gratefulness to the only One Who deserves our giving of thanks. Consider what the Bible says:
1 Chronicles 16:8, “Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples.”
Psalm 100:4, “Enter His gates with thanksgiving And His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.”
Psalm 9:1, “I will give thanks to the Lord with all my heart; I will tell of all Your wonders.”
Psalm 69:30, “I will praise the name of God with song And magnify Him with thanksgiving.”
Psalm 95:2, “Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.”
Psalm 118:1, “Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting.”
Let us do likewise.
“Dear Lord, Expose my ungratefulness and fill me with thanksgiving for You and Your works and words. Thank you, Amen.”
