Encouragement through God Designed Encounters

“Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose,” Philippians 2:1-2.

I met a new friend last week at an airport hotel. She took our order, delivered our food, and when she returned to check on us, she caught us praying over our scrambled eggs, fruit and coffee. I sometimes find this awkward and know I shouldn’t, but she did not seem to mind.

In fact, she whispered, “Amen,” and softly added, “I’m a Christian, too.”

I said, “It must be hard to be a Christian in this area of the country,” and she quickly agreed.

In the next few moments we shared our concerns in life and I gave her my email and blog address in hopes that she would know she is not alone in her beliefs and struggles. She added that our meeting was not an accident and I believe the same. The minutes were soon over, but I continue to pray for her.

God always works to encourage His children, but we must have eyes to see His open doors of opportunity. Which doorway will you boldly step through and who will you encourage today?

“Dear Lord, help me to see who and what you have for me every day. Thank you, Amen.”

Blessings of encouraging whoever, whenever, wherever! Prayer requests?
