Blessings of stress-free living! Prayer requests?
Proverbs 12:25, “Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down, But a good word makes it glad.”
Philippians 4:6, “Be anxious for nothing…”
Disappearing airliners, Crimean crisis, Putin versus Obama, wacky weather systems, even basketball’s March Madness are among numerous tension-inducers we battle daily. We clench jaws, grind teeth, and suffer acid stomachs and achy heads. There has to be a better way to live!
What if we could release stress and block out any new? When we release physical tension muscles relax. When we release mental or emotional tension the mind calms and clears. And when we release spiritual tension God’s Spirit can move freely and peace enters.
We offer stress-burdened bodies to God; He answers with love, peace, and comfort.
Love “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16. With God we neither perish eternally nor under any circumstance.
Peace “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.” John 14:27. God’s peace through Jesus is unique, always available, and frees us.
Comfort “Who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God,” 2 Corinthians 1:4. We receive God’s comfort then pass it on. “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper (Comforter, The Holy Spirit), that He may be with you forever,” John 14:16. Not only are you and I showered with comfort, we’re saturated with The Comforter Himself.
We respond with minds of trust, hearts of thanks, and souls of faith.
Trust “He who gives attention to the word will find good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord,” Proverbs 16:20.
Thanks “I will give thanks to You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, and will glorify Your name forever.” Psalm 82:12
Faith “…and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” Galatians 2:20b
